This is a huge 100cm x 70cm framed original cyanotype. The winter months are hard to make cyanotypes – inclement weather, lack of vegetation and low UV levels – so I have to resort to my pressed plants and a UV light. I try not to cut back the beds in the garden so the birds have seed and the seedheads and dried foliage provide a blanket for the shoots underneath. These specimens have been with me for several years. I love feather cyanotypes as they capture so much detail, so I’ve added Peacock, Quail and Magpie feathers.
